New Technology

  • K-7 Electromyography (EMG), Sonography (ESG), Computerized Jaw Position Scanning (CMS)

This high-tech, highly sensitive instrumentation, much like an EKG for the heart, assists Dr. Ottersberg in locating and monitoring the optimal jaw position to relieve TMJ dysfunction, migraines, headaches, and the effects of clenching and grinding.

  • J-5 or Myomonitor TENS

This ultra low level transcutaneous electroneural stimulation is used to relax the muscles of the head and neck to relieve pain and to assist in obtaining a neutral jaw position on deprogrammed muscles.

  • Diagnodent

This high tech device is used to detect decay on natural teeth. Decay fluoresces differently under laser than healthy enamel.  The Diagnodent aids in identifying and quantifying decay.

  • Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays are instant with about one tenth the already low x-ray exposure of conventional dental radiographs. They are easy to read and are great for patient education. Digital x-rays are also good for the environment because they eliminate the caustic chemicals needed to process traditional x-rays.

  • Chairside Intraoral Cameras

“A picture is worth a thousand words.”  The intraoral camera allows for high resolution pictures for diagnosis by the doctor and patient education.

  • Chairside Computers with Video Capability

Chairside computers allow the treatment planning process to proceed smoothly with patient education videos.
